Arco is a well-known holiday resort thanks to the mild climate, the clean and healthy air and the proximity to Lake Garda.
Arco is in the heart of the northern Lake Garda area. In the south, the city overlooks Lake Garda and in the north the Alps. From Arco there is a cycle path leading directly to the Arco beach, which lies between Riva del Garda and Torbole. There you will find a beach with sailing and windsurfing centre.
Arco is the world city of climbing: every year takes place the Rock Master, an international climbing competition in which athletes from all over the world take part. The city is also very popular with mountain bikers and hikers for the trails with a unique view.
Supermarket Poli, also with online shopping possibility, restaurants and bars are reachable by foot in a few minutes.

History
Arco Castle is one of the most beautiful and impressive medieval fortresses in the Alpine country and was built by the Count of Arco on top of a rocky mountain that dominates the Sarca river plain and offers a wonderful view.
Archduke Albrecht von Habsburg had his winter residence in Arco, which lies in the middle of a densely overgrown park, the arboretum. Exotic and Mediterranean plants thrive there today and can be visited free. The Habsburgs embellished the city with parks and gardens, elegant Art Nouveau villas and beautiful mansions.
